Gov. Greg Abbott said Monday “the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Facebook Data Center.” (NASDAQ: FB)

Facebook is committed to creating at least 40 jobs in Fort Worth that will pay an average of $70k. That’s some fine corporate welfare there, Grabbott! So Facebook will save $7.3 million a year at that facility.

They’ll pay roughly $2.8 million in salaries, using the $70,000 average. For 40 jobs. 40.

$146.7 million incentive package on real and business personal property taxes over the next 20 years – without naming the company. Facebook is committed to creating at least 40 jobs in Fort Worth. The city staff said the positions will earn an average $70,000 annually.

$7.335 million in annual savings to offset your $2.8 million in salary? Sounds like Facebook is making out like a bandit. And not the good Tran Am driving, East-bound and down, doing what they say can’t be done Bandit, either.
