I’ll admit, XP was my favorite was my favorite of all the Windows, but C’mon. XP is still being supported for corporations that pay for it, so they can transition smoothly. Whether the IRS is getting updates and patches might be a different question. (NASDAQ: MSFT)
Actually not a bad idea, 20 year old hackers will have no idea how to navigate XP. I came here to say the same thing.
Wait long enough, and out dated technology becomes MORE secure, not less. We’re probably a long way away from XP being there, though.Tom Slick is a call center trainer and supervisor, most of his hires in their 20s give him a deer in the headlights look when he starts the section on XP, and these are people who passed a fairly complex evaluation to get to the tech support floor.
There’s a lot about how XP is built that is fundamentally insecure, like how drivers are handled and how users run with full admin privileges by default. The only way to fix things like that without making a bigger mess is to upgrade the whole OS.
