It makes one wonder if all that profit isn’t the reason for those attacks. Say that’s a nice site you’ve got there, pity if it were to get breached. Ashley Madison was hacked today. It should be noted that Target had a FireEye; it caught the bug, then passed the email through and no one read the system report.
This is written like a bluff. Go buy these companies that are in the market for providing security to all the other companies, they’ll be safe in the new world that they’re trying to secure. In reality, these are the biggest targets for data breaches in the world because they hold all the keys, and one good hack on any of these companies can breach a good part of the market.I need to start sending out “We know about your Ashley Madison” emails and demand bitcoins before I release their details to their spouses. I don’t have the data, but there are millions of worried people out there who are just suckers.
Funny, the companies named in that story are all has-beens of cyber security. Proofpoint hasn’t had an interesting new product in 5 year. FireEye jumped the shark a year ago. VeriSign, are they even in security any more. KEYW owns two fairly small startups, SenSage and HexisCyber. HexisCyber is cool, but in a very tight market. And SenSage is a total nobody.
The hot players are Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Splunk.
Somebody is looking for a price bump on some mediocre stocks so they can bail. (NASDAQ: FEYE)
